Tibor Bogányi and János Balázs perform some of the finest pieces that Hungarian music has to offer, from Liszt’s upbeat Les Préludes to Kodály’s reinterpretation of Hungarian folk music. At the centre of the programme is Bartók’s Piano Concerto, performed by Balázs in his reputedly magical style, enchanting the audience and blurring the boundary between stage and auditorium.
