Richard Wagner (arr. Lorin Maazel): Der Ring ohne Worte
Wagner’s Ring is an operatic monolith without equal, and performing it in full takes several days. Der Ring ohne Worte is an orchestral arrangement of the most breathtaking moments in the cycle, in chronological order. In a single movement without an interval, the work begins with the opening of Rheingold, continues through the mythical journeys of Walküre and Siegfried and concludes with the final chords of Götterdämmerung. The evening ends with the heroic ‘Ride of the Valkyries’.
The length of the concert is about 1 h 30 min. No intermission.
