Katariina Taipale

Katariina Taipale began her violin studies under the direction of Juha Kankaan. She studied at the Kokkola Conservatory from 1993 to 1996, under the guidance of violinist & conductor Jaana Haanterä as well as with violin instructor and Alexander Technique teacher John Crawford, among others. Her studies continued from 1996 to 1999 in Sweden at the Malmö Academy of Music under the direction of violin professor Jennifer Nuttal-Wolf and in courses led by violin professor Endre Wolf, and also participated in various chamber music ensembles.

In late spring of 1999, she completed her master’s degree of music at the Malmö Academy of Music and her final degree at the Kokkola Conservatory.

From spring 2003 onwards, Katariina Taipale worked as a musician with the Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra, which was under the direction of Juha Kankaan from 1999 to 2002.

From spring 2003 onwards, she continued to work permanently as a musician with the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as in many chamber music ensembles.
