Principal guest conductor period of Julian Rachlin to continue until 2023

The contract of violinist and conductor Julian Rachlin as principal guest conductor for the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra has been extended until 31.7.2023. Julian Rachlin is one of the most renowned artistis personalities of our time and enjoys great popularity both in Turku and around the world. 

Julian Rachlin has visited Turku since 2015, and he was appointed principal guest conductor in 2017. The renowned musician has established his place as the favourite of the audience in Turku, and he has brought several virtuoso programmes of favourite works in classical music to Turku. 

Rachlin performs 7.-8.10. with a classical repertoire

This week, Thursday 7th and Friday 8th of October, Julian Rachlin conducts the Turku Philharmonic and performs a classical repertoire. The wonderful programme includes Maksim Berezovsky´s  Symphony in C major, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart´s Violin Concerto no. 4 in D major and
Joseph Haydn´s Symphony no. 104 in D major ‘London’. As a soloist in Mozart´s concerto, we will see Lilia Pocitari, who has enjoyed success in competitions and is on an upward trajectory in her career.
