Rannan tämän kauden tehtäviin kuuluu Carlotta Giudicellin rooli Andrew Lloyd Webber musikaalissa Oopperan kummitus.  Valtakunnalliseen, suuren yleisön tietoisuuteen Kaisa Ranta nousi voitettuaan ensimmäisen palkinnon Lappeenrannan valtakunnallisessa laulukilpailussa vuonna 2006. Samassa kilpailussa vuonna 2004 Ranta palkittiin Nuoren lupaavan naislaulajattaren palkinnolla. Ranta on kesällä 2009 käydyn kansainvälisen Mirjam Helin -laulukilpailun semifinalisti.
