Tango del Ángel

Henrik Sandås, bandoneón and conducting
TPO sinfonietta

Tango del Ángel, symphonic tango concert designed and arranged by bandoneón player Henrik Sandås is centered around Astor Piazzolla’s Argentinian tango nuevo, combined with a masterful mix of traditional tango’s exoticism, romance and other styles. Sandås has arranged vast orchestral series set on Piazzolla’s 60’s compositions of angels and devils, which forms the first half of the concert. Program of the second half serves Piazzolla’s arrangements of classic tango songs and a virtuoso “Tango Ballet” arranged for bandoneon and symphony orchestra. Arrangements of Sandås and Piazzolla’s swinging tango nuevo create a passionate evening of concert tango.

Henrik Sandås is one of the most distinguished bandoneon players in Finland and a sought-after guest abroad. Alongside tango nuevo, Sandås spares time for concert accordion and classical music. In addition to his solo career he is known for bands Quartet Ajaton and Nuevo Quinteto Otra Vez

The length of the concert is approx. 2 h. One intermission.
You can buy refreshments from the Lindblom Hall during the evening.
