Marco Bottet
Marco Bottet was born in Avignon (France), but from the age of six he grew up in Venice (Italy).
After his bassoon graduation in Venice he continued his path with Liborio Guarneri at the conservatory of Como, with Matthias Rácz at the Hochschule der Künste in Zurich and with Karsten Nagel and Till Heine at the Leopold Mozart Zentrum in Augsburg.
Besides distinguishing himself in some National and International competitions performing as a soloist and in chamber music groups, he focused on his orchestra career.
Starting with youth Orchestras he was appointed principal bassoon to the Youth Italian Orchestra (Year 2015), and to the L. Cherubini Orchestra (2016-2019), founded and mainly directed by M° Riccardo Muti.
Since the year 2016 he took part regularly as guest player in several symphonic, opera and chamber music projects with several Italian and German professionals orchestras such as: “Teatro del Maggio musicale Fiorentino”, “Teatro Regio” of Torino, “Gran Teatro la Fenice” of Venice, Münchner Rundfunkorchester of Munich, Hofer symphoniker.
His orchestra career in Finland starts in 2023 being substitute as principal bassoon at the Turku Philarmonic Orchestra for the spring season. From September 2023 to august 2024 he was appointed Principal bassoon of the Vaasa City Orchestra. And since September 2024 he holds the position of co-principal bassoon at the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra.
