Children´s Music Salon: Mimmit and Puhuri, son of Frost

Now this is what you call an adventure! Mimmit and Puhuri, Son of Frost is a fast-paced and moving symphonic musical fairy tale for the whole family, in which the mystery of the missing winter is unravelled. The musical fairy tale is rooted in Finnish folklore and ancient beliefs about winter, and it addresses climate change through the medium of a fairy tale. The popular and award-winning children’s ensemble Mimmit has created a unique performance in collaboration with leading professionals from various artistic disciplines. This musical fairy tale is perfect for anyone who loves fast-paced adventures and good music, but is particularly suited to children aged 5–12. The rich, cinematic music, with its varied moods, conveys a wide range of emotions, from heart-wrenching loneliness to joyful friendship. The album *Puhuri, Pakkasen poika* was named Children’s Album of the Year in 2025. The music was composed and the lyrics written by Pauliina Lerche, and arranged and orchestrated by Jussi Lampela. In 2027, Mimmit are celebrating their 20th anniversary.
