It is autumn 1952. Finland’s first concert hall has been completed in Aninkaistenmäki, and the Turku Concert Hall, designed by architect Risto-Veikko Luukkonen, will be inaugurated on November 27 with a concert by the Turku City Orchestra. Now, the program of the inaugural concert has been reconstructed in honor of the hall’s last concert season, and it will feature orchestral music, male choir singing, and gymnastics, not to mention the excitement of the Olympic year. The concert program, which exudes the charm of the 1950s, has been designed by Matti Koponen and Philip Zuckerman, Concertmasters of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. Thank you for the 74 years together, Turku Concert Hall!

Let’s say goodbye to Turku Concert Hall together! You can dress up for the evening in the style of the decade and leave your memories of the hall in the guest book in the lobby.
