Alfred Hitchcock – Bernard Herrmann: Psycho (1960)
The iconic shower scene, Bernard Herrmann’s haunting music, Marion Crane on the run, and Norman Bates’ motel made film history in 1960. Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho revolutionized the horror film genre and still holds its grip decades later. This psychologically suspenseful film offers Hitchcock’s characteristic tormenting tension from beginning to end.
The film will be projected onto a large screen in the concert hall, and the music will be performed live by the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Gabriele. The film concert continues the TPO in Cinema series, in which the most famous works of cinema are brought to life by a symphony orchestra.
The film is rated K12.
The film will be subtitled in Finnish and Swedish.
The film concert lasts about 2 hours and 30 minutes, including an intermission.
