Astor Piazzolla’s rousing tango nuevo and songs from the golden age of Argentine tango are transformed into soulful and passionate concert tango. Bandoneón star Henrik Sandås has compiled Piazzolla’s works, composed in the 1960s around angel and devil theme, into an extensive orchestral series, Suite ángeles y diablos. The series combines the exoticism of traditional tango, romance, classical music, and jazz. Aninkaistenmäki is transformed into the hot and passionate Buenos Aires, where Helime and Toni Ruotsalainen dance in the glow of the nighttime streetlights. The arrangements and orchestrations are by Astor Piazzolla and Henrik Sandås.
